Preparing Used ASICs Before Thermal Assessment Shipment
Cleaning, cable checks, and firmware notes that prevent delayed lab scheduling for second-hand mining hardware.
Second-hand units arrive with dust-packed heatsinks and mismatched power cables. A hour of preparation at your site reduces lab delays and produces thermal data that reflects hosting reality.
Heatsink and fan cleaning
We do not charge for light dust removal, but heavily clogged units shift the first lab day to cleaning. Blow out fins with dry air; do not ship with wet cleaning residue.
Power cables
Include the exact cables you use at the farm. Adapter chains change resistance and can skew power logs.
Firmware snapshot
Write down pool URL, worker name, and firmware version. If you run custom firmware, flash back to your hosting configuration before shipment unless you want us to test the custom build explicitly.
Shipping orientation
Ship upright with foam blocking fan movement. Label exhaust direction on the box so our rack simulation matches your intended orientation.
Intake documentation
Email photos of any cracked shrouds or replaced fans. We annotate reports with physical modifications so farm managers know the test conditions.
